Tuesday, March 31

This week I will be reading and sharing thoughts from the Psalms. Today, Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed are those who do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on God's law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water that yield their fruit in season, and their leaves do not whither. In all that they do, they prosper.

Blessed are those who walk...their delight is in the law of the Lord. I don't know about you but I've made sure to go for a long walk every day since we've been a part. Sometimes in the morning but more often in the evening. I like hearing the birds sing, the frogs croak and the wind blow. There is something about being outside that revives my soul. Many of you know that for most of my life I have killed all sorts of flora. I brought home the plants from my office so I could be sure to keep them alive through all of this. And here in the 1st Psalm we are reminded that those who trust in God are like trees planted by streams of water.

For today, I want each of us to find a time to connect with God outside. Take a deep breath and exhale. In the process of exhaling - let the stress flow out of you. We cling to the promise that God is with us.
