Pentecost

So much happening in such a short period of time. Our worship was recorded on Thursday before the protests began. Our worship video was uploaded on Saturday before cities throughout our country experienced violence.

Acts 2:2-4 "And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."

It is our hope and prayer that the Holy Spirit may reign this day. Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Christ died for us while we were yet sinners, that proves God's love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen.

Now as forgiven and reconciled people may we be known by Christ's love, peace, faith, and hope. May we pray for peace and act for justice.
